DIY Baby Swimsuit Revamp

The Dollar Tree is basically my favorite place. For the record I am not getting paid to say that. I just really love it. I am slightly embarrassed about the number of times that I have been there in the past few weeks. 🙊 It's been A LOT. 

I don't always find a ton of stuff when I go, but they have some really awesome stuff sometimes. And it's only a dollar! It's amazing. One of my trips there last week, I spotted this little purple swimming suit, hanging in the summer section. I decided to but it for Sophie. I just knew that I could do something fun to it. I am so glad that I did!! I love it so much. Plus I only spent like $1.25 on a super cute extra swimming suit for my little miss.

I cut the straps where they connect to the suit in the back. I then added five colorful beads to both sides. Next I added a bead to the end of the strap to keep it from getting unraveled. I used hot glue to keep it on there. It ties like a halter top now. 

This swimming suit and baby are my favorite! I love how this was super simple and cheap, but looks so dang cute! I actually went back and bought one in pink so that I can come up with another fun revamp. I am sure I will be showing you soon. xo Britt

Versona Accessories

Last Thursday Versona  opened a brand new store in Olathe, Kansas. Thanks to some amazing people at Versona we had the opportunity of receiving a gift card to buy some of their accessories at their new location. This was our first visit to a Versona store and we LOVED it! They have so many gorgeous accessories, from jewelry and scarves to bags and clothes. The best part is the prices. The prices are very reasonable so you don't have to feel like you're breaking the bank to buy something for yourself. 

We had a fun time looking through all the amazing stuff. It was so hard to choose just a few things to buy because we just wanted it all! 

After looking everything over at least three times, we decided it was time to just choose our favorites. This was not any easy task. But after some contemplating we decided on a pair of earrings, a set of rings, and a necklace. 

We love our new jewelry, but we were sad we couldn't just have it all! :) And of course we will be going back soon to get more. We already have a list of things we want to go back and get. Here is some of our favorites we couldn't bring home this time:

Thrifty: Fashion Edition

So I am sure by know you are aware of our love for shopping at thrift stores and garage sales. We have found some of the coolest things while shopping at them. The great thing about thrifty shopping is that you can find awesome things without spending a fortune. Today's addition of Thrifty Thursday includes cute clothes we have found for just a few dollars!

First up we have a cute Peter Pan Collar dress. Typically these dresses retail for around $35, it felt like we were stealing this one by paying  just $2!

Next, we have a royal blue top with lace shoulders. This shirt can be used as casual or paired with a nice necklace for a classier look. A top like this would normally retail for around $30, but we picked this one up for just $1.

This black sundress is great for a day of shopping or even a night out. Sundresses normally sell for about $35, we found this cute one for just $2 at a garage sale.

Here we have a Peter Pan Collar tank, similar to the first dress. This tank can be paired with a cute pair of dress pants to give off a more professional vibe. This type of tank can be bought at most stores for around $35, we found this at a garage sale for only $1!!

Last we have a simple, red and black dress. This sort of dress can be found for up to $25, but once again we got a great deal and only paid $3 (and it was brand new with tags!)

You can find great deals at the thrift store or even a garage sale. Before you shut out the idea of going to a thrift store, try it! Go to a couple (because not all thrift stores are good) and see what you can come up with! Thrift shopping can help you find things that no one else has and save money. Not all clothes you find at a thrift store are going to be perfect or your style, but before leaving the store empty handed think of the potential some clothes have. Even if you find something that you only kind of like, you can always add to it or change it up a bit to fit your personal style. With thrift shopping the things you can create are endless and its not a huge investment so you can feel better about trying different things! We always find awesome things we never imagined we could use. That's the great thing about thrift shopping, you never know what great treasures you will find.
