Thrifty: Lazy Susan Revamp

It's been quite a while since I posted about any of my thrift store finds. So I thought I'd share :) I picked this lazy susan up at one my typical thrift stores I go to a while ago. I had originally planned on using it on the dining room table, but I change the table runners so often that it just wast actually getting used. So I decided that the craft table was the perfect location.

My initial plan was for their to be nothing on the craft table, but let's face it. I am constantly working on something so there are always craft supplies out everywhere. So that's when I decided that the lazy susan could go in the middle and hold the things that I use most often.

When I bought it, the lazy susan was a dark brown wood, which did not go with the craft table table. So like basically everything else I own, I painted it gold!! I just used two coats of paint and it was ready to go.

So far I love the convenience of it. It holds my frequently used items and it looks cute. So it's perfect! Happy Wednesday lovelies! xo Britt

Recycle: DIY Craft Caddy

Sometimes we get into a project and need a lot of supplies to work with. Since all of our supplies are kept in our craft closet it usually takes awhile to get everything (and even longer to put it up) out because we have to take many trips. Well one day while we were getting drinks at Quiktrip, we had too many to carry in one trip so we had to use one of their drink carriers. And this is when we got our brilliant idea! The drink carrier would be PERFECT for helping us carry our craft supplies. So as soon as we got our drinks home we put the drink carrier to work.  But we didn't care for the boring tan carrier so we livened it up a little bit with color.

We also cleaned out an old can, spray painted it gold, and put it in one of the spots in our caddy. It is perfect for holding pencils, markers, paint brushes, scissors, etc.

Our caddy is perfect for carrying our smaller craft supplies such as paint, glue, tape, beads, string, etc. And it can be filled with different things depending on which project you are doing.

At the end of the day if we aren't done with our project we just put the materials back in our caddy and sit it out of the way for the next day. And when are project is complete we put everything back in the craft closet. Then our caddy is empty and ready to be filled when we start our next project. xoxo, Britt + Sky

Noah Adventures: Country Fun

Noah is a pretty popular dude on the interwebs. So we thought he should get a little more face-time. This weekend we visited my grandparents house out in the country. Since the weather was b-e-a-utiful, I took Noah's wagon so we could go splorin' of course.

Noah loves being outside which is a little funny because he seems to kind of hate nature. Haha! You will see the disgusted face he has in a few of these pictures.  Or how he is holding up his leg so that it won't touch the ground.

But for realz. He loves to be outside and look around and hear all of the sounds and touch everything. And I of course love to watch him take it all in. I get him to look at different things I find and I tell him what everything is called. And we pick "flowers" (aka. weeds, dandelions, etc. ) and smell them. Oh and at the end of our adventure he held on to the edge of the wagon and walked around its sides and collected some fun things. He was pretty impressed with himself.

DIY Scrabble Magnets

We made some fun scrabble magnets for our fridge. They are perfect for hanging art work, grocery list, or reminders. All you need is scrabble letters and self-adhesive magnets. You should try these. They are super cute and better than most store bought magnets.

You can either make a magnet that spells out a word or just a single letter magnet. For a whole word we used a self adhesive magnet strip. For the single letter we used  circle self-adhesive magnets. You could also cut the strips for the single letter magnets, if you don't  have any circle magnets.

The single letter magnets are best for small notes, reminders, and pictures. We made Noah's name to hang his art work. The whole word magnet is perfect for your kiddos art work, and if you have more than one they can each have their own!

The best part is you can make any word or name you would like! Try it for yourself. :) xoxo, Britt + Sky
